I have recently majored in Textiles and fibre art now through the development of my designs I am producing both functional pieces, for fashion and interiors, and fine art sculptures. I have chosen to take elements of influence through study of nature and Fractals.
Having these qualifications enables me to develop my understanding of the qualities needed in contemporary Design and Fine Art, and also to incorporate these influences into my work.
With the added advantage of business related qualifications, I am converse with a wide variety of business skills; this means I am computer literate in Word, Database, Excel, and Publisher. I also have used Photoshop.
Interests
I have always had a passion for art and design, and I love to help others to express their own creative talents. Recently I organised an activity along with local children to design and make fancy dress costumes for local events. This has developed my abilities as a team builder, and leader.
My determination to protect the environment has meant that I have been actively involved in a verity of clean-ups in my local nature reserve. I also work as a volunteer for charities that are connected to saving our local heritage.

I have had 30 years of experience in various textile related industries, from the design, manufacture, and wholesale through to retail, visiting fitting and after-sales care in customers own homes. These jobs included the high-end fashion industry a furrier, sports clothing, and also the interior design industry as a soft furnisher. Many of these jobs were as a self employed or freelance status.

As a self employed Instructor I have mastered many skills over 10 years, these include both personal skills in my self-development such as motivational and leadership qualities, I also have a better understanding of my Personal and Developmental wellbeing. As an instructor my people skills have advanced. These skills include public speaking, organisational skills and Team building. There are other skills that are essential in this type of role such as, managerial and delegation of duties, both to fellow instructors and to students.
PERSONAL STATEMENT
I consider myself a hard working person and I am quick to learn. I am able to use my own initiative to work on my own or as part of a team. I am a neat and tidy person who takes pride in my work and appearance. I have the drive and willingness to learn and be the best in what I do. I am also very keen to help others to attain their own goals and believe that working as a team will always mean the best results follow.
